New Year – Fresh Start

Assess These Three Points

The best thing about each new year is that we get another opportunity to begin anew. We get a fresh start, and expectations are high. How can you make the best of this new beginning?

Consider these three points:

1. Assess direction:

  • Revisit your vision/mission statement(s) – is your chosen direction still valid?
  • On what will you focus in 2013 – what key 3 goals do you want to achieve this year to drive you in your chosen direction?
  • Is it time to write a new mission statement?

2. Celebrate success – what worked well last year?

  • What goals were achieved and why did you succeed?
  • What progress was made towards your vision or mission?
  • Does your team know what was accomplished and how they contributed?

3. Seek improvement – what can be improved?

  • What did not work according to plan and why did this occur?
  • Could you have done something differently to alter that result?
  • How can you avoid the same mistakes and learn from the knowledge you earned?

How might you refine your direction for 2013?

How can you leverage what worked well to
improve results and accelerate progress?

May your new year be rewarding and prosperous!
